What is clarity phototherapy?
Are you looking for a treatment that can refresh your skin, reduce signs of ageing, and give you a youthful glow—all without the extended downtime of CO2 lasers?
The Lutronic II is an advanced, dual-wavelength laser that offers a gentle yet powerful approach to skin revitalisation. This treatment stimulates your skin’s natural repair process from the inside out, making it an excellent option for addressing fine lines, uneven texture and tone, and mild laxity.
How Does Work for Skin Rejuvenation?
Unlike ablative lasers or C lasers that remove the top layer of skin, II uses a non-ablative technique, meaning we can target the deeper skin layers while keeping the surface intact.
Deep Dermal Heating: The II uses its wavelength to send precise thermal energy deep into the dermis (the lower layer of skin).
Collagen Power Boost: This controlled heat stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin—the vital proteins that give your skin strength, structure, and elasticity.
Natural Renewal: As your body generates fresh collagen over the following weeks and months, your skin naturally becomes firmer, smoother, and more vibrant.
The I also features cutting-edge IntelliTrak technology and an integrated cooling system to ensure the treatment is fast, consistent, and comfortable for you.
The II Difference: Minimal Downtime
One of the biggest advantages of II is the convenience it offers.
Recovery: Since this is a non-ablative treatment, there is typically no real downtime. You might experience slight redness, similar to a light sunburn, which usually subsides within an hour or two.
Results: Results are gradual and build with each treatment as new collagen is generated. We generally recommend a series of sessions for optimal, long-lasting rejuvenation.
Comfort: The advanced built-in cooling system keeps the surface of your skin protected and comfortable throughout the procedure.
If you’re seeking powerful skin rejuvenation without the commitment of a significant recovery period, II could be the perfect solution for you.

What happens during my consultation?
A nurse will take a very thorough medical and psychosocial history. The areas of concern will be physically examined. If patients and nurses expectations of the treatment are matched and the patient is a suitable candidate the procedure, risks and side effects, results and recovery will be discussed in great detail.
What happens during my treatment appointment?

Preparation
If the decision is made to proceed with Clarity Phototherapy, the patient is given pre-procedure instructions. This may include avoiding certain medications and skincare products in the days leading up to the treatment.

Cleansing
It is best to attend without makeup. Your skin will be cleansed and prepared with clinisept for the procedure.

Laser Application
The patient and the healthcare team wear protective eyewear to shield their eyes from the laser light.
The procedure is quick, typically lasting between 15 to 30 minutes.
The practitioner will use a specialised, lightweight handpiece. IntelliTrak patented technology allows the practitioner to “glide” the handpiece across the skin, automatically tracking the area and delivering rapid, consistent laser energy pulses at a user-selected density. This ensures no spots are missed and the treatment is both fast and uniform. As the laser glides over your skin, you will feel the intense cooling from the , followed by a brief sensation of warmth or a light, quick snapping (similar to a rubber band flicked against the skin). Most patients find this highly tolerable.

Post Procedure Care
Once the laser portion is complete, you can get right back to your day:
Your practitioner will apply a soothing, protective product and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
You may experience mild redness or warmth in the treated area, similar to a light sunburn. This typically subsides within a few hours. In cases where pigmentation is treated, dark spots may appear slightly darker before they fade, which is a sign the treatment worked. There is minimal to no downtime. You can resume most normal activities, including work and light exercise, right away. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity or anything that causes excessive sweating for the first 24-48 hours.
what is the treatment recovery like?
There is minimal to no downtime. You can resume most normal activities, including work and light exercise, right away. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity or anything that causes excessive sweating for the first 24-48 hours.
A suitable skincare routine and sun protection/avoidance are crucial during the recovery phase.
What are the results of the treatment like?
After a single II Laser Toning session, many patients notice a positive change:
Skin will often look immediately plumper, brighter, and clearer due to the gentle heat promoting blood flow and cell renewal.
When treating facial flushing or diffused redness, you may notice a visible reduction in the appearance of broken capillaries.
For treatments targeting sunspots or freckles, the targeted pigment will often darken slightly before the body naturally sheds it over the next few days to a week.
The true power of II is unleashed over a series of treatments. As the laser consistently stimulates the production of new collagen, you will see a progressive improvement in the overall structure and appearance of your skin.
are there any people who this treatment may not be suitable for?
While Clarity Phototherapy is highly versatile and generally safe, certain conditions and factors can make a patient unsuitable for treatment.
Pregnancy or Breastfeeding
Recent Use of Oral Retinoids (e.g., Accutane/Isotretinoin)
Active Skin Infection or Open Wounds in the treatment area
Active Cold Sore/Herpes Simplex Outbreak: Treatment must be postponed until the lesion has fully healed
Skin Cancer or Suspicious Lesions in the area to be treated
Implanted Medical Devices: Including pacemakers or internal defibrillators
Situational or Cautionary Factors
There are some situational or cautionary factors which can increase the risk of side effects, and treatment may need to be postponed, adjusted, or performed with extreme caution.
Recent Sun Exposure or Tanning: The laser targets pigment, and treating recently or actively tanned skin (natural sun or tanning beds) significantly increases the risk of burns, hyperpigmentation (darkening), or hypopigmentation (lightening).
Use of Topical Irritants: The use of topical products that irritate the skin (such as Retin-A, Retinoids, or high-concentration AHAs/BHAs) must be discontinued 3–7 days before and after treatment.
History of Keloid Scarring or Abnormal Wound Healing.
Photosensitising Medications: Any medication known to cause skin photosensitivity.
Use of Self-Tanning Products: These must be completely removed from the skin, as the laser can target the pigment in the product and cause burns.
